Reiki - The Art of Energy Healing

What is Reiki? What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese energy healing used to enhance the body's natural ability to heal itself through the balancing of energy on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual level.

The Meaning of Reiki

The word Reiki (霊気) consists of two Kanji characters:
霊 (Rei) meaning "spirit"
気 (Ki) meaning "life force energy"
Together, Reiki translates to "spiritually guided life force energy," which flows through all living beings and supports overall health and balance.

Health Benefits of Reiki

History of Reiki The History of Reiki

Reiki History
In March 1922, Mikao Usui was spiritually awakened and received the healing energy what is called Reiki after a 21 day fasting and meditating on Mount Kurama in Kyoto.
He founded "The Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai" (Usui Reiki healing Society) in April. Reiki soon spread throughout the region and Usui was recognized "A Master of Healing Touch".

After Usui's death, Chujiro Hayashi; a former student of Usui initiated and trained Hawayo Takata; a Japanese-American boned in Hawaii. She trained 22 teaching masters that have taught Reiki all over the world. Reiki has now internationally known and it is said that over 5 million people practice it. (Phyllis Lei Furumoto, Hawayo Takata 's granddaughter, founded The Reiki Alliance. Barbara Weber Ray, one of the 22 Reiki Masters trained by Takata, founded The Radiance Technique.)

It was re-imported into Japan in 1980's and has spread to over 150 thousand people.

Reiki Gokai Reiki Gokai - Reiki Five Principles

While Reiki Gokai (five Reiki principles) may seem simple, they can be quite challenging at times.
That's why it's essential to remember and repeat them in our minds to clear ourselves and draw closer to the principles.

Reiki is widely recognized as an energy healing practice, but it is not merely about technique.
Reiki is fundamentally about how we live our lives in accordance with the principles of Reiki Gokai.

Reiki Gokai - Reiki Five Principles (1) The secret way to invite good luck
